PM KUSUM

The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthan Mahabhiyan (PM-KUSUM) Scheme aims to reduce diesel usage in the agricultural sector and increase farmers' income. The Scheme provides a central government subsidy of up to 30% or 50% of the total cost for installing standalone solar pumps and solarizing existing grid-connected agricultural pumps. Additionally, farmers can set up grid-connected solar power plants of up to 2 MW on their barren or fallow land and sell electricity to the local DISCOM at a tariff set by the state regulator. The implementation of this Scheme is managed by the designated State Government departments.
